Thinking

When scouring the internet for image research for work I cam across this piece by Stefen Bruggeman, and I juts thought it was very poignant message.

Pulse Room

I rediscovered this piece by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer which I love. The idea being that a person controls the lights in the room by their heartrate, simple and beautiful.

Colloboration with Pitch and Sync and Chad Valley

I received an email today, asking if I wanted to be involved in a collaboration in a gigshow at the beginning of September. It will be at Pitch and Syncs studio and will be in line with a band called Chad Valley.
They want to use my Haptic piece as an interactive to be installed so the sounds are in conjunction with the band!
I think it would be a really exciting project so I am looking forward to learning more about it. For now here is Chad Valleys website to give you a listen to their music and what they are about.

National media museum

The national media museum are holding a life online exhibition next year devoted to exploring the history, social impact and future of the Internet.

I spoke to the curator of the show back in June and she told me to submit my work for the exhibition...

So I have submitted my Twitter clock for inclusion in the show, although it does ask for a new piece of work I feel like the Twitter clock would be a perfect fit so fingers crossed!

Augmented Reality

Currently interning at GR/DD and interactive design agency, every enquiry that seems to be coming through the door at the moment is about AR otherwise known as Augmented Reality. Its what is 'HOT' right now, but is it where the future lies? As a technology it is completely immersive for the viewer it puts you in the real or imaginary world dependent on how it is being used, and creates environments for play, I think it can only continue to grow and we will only get more enquiries through the door in the meantime here is an interesting article on AR and where its future lies.

Feedback

One piece on display at the exhibition was Feedback by Hellicar and Lewis, who are represented By Nexus whom our exhibition was in association with.
It was my favourite piece on show, and demanded my attention for a long time, and was something that was fun and was enjoyed by a lot of people.

As they state: They like making experiences that put people in the moment.

This piece certainly did that and its definitely a statement that I find inspiring to try and achieve...I hope my Haptic piece did that to an extent as well last night, where I found people constantly enjoying the interaction with it, and I hope to continue to pursue this theme, and maybe get the chance to do something with Pete and Joel in the future.

Photos of last night to follow in the mean time enjoy work from Pete and Joel on their site:

Stewdio Talk

Private View of the Space Between Exhibition last night saw an interesting talk by Stuart Smith, giving advice to us young graduates. The main message being FIND YOUR CALLING, and although I hope I have indeed already found it already, I will continue to explore and experiment within new areas and challenge new focuses and find new things to inspire me and find my true calling.
